Sophie Koschitz examines the representation of trees on the Byôbu, their forms and the meanings attributed to them. She focuses on the historical and cultural significance of trees in rituals, traditions and customs. Her aim is to make cultural similarities visible through this artistic research process.(1990*), studies Art Education at the University of Applied Arts Vienna. His/her artistic research work focuses on the colors of the Japanese Paravent and aims to mediate the use and meanings of the colors in the history and the possible futures. Herby he/she presents his/her artistic research approach and a mediation/educational approach with a focus on intercultural education.
